Back to school email.......

Dear BLS Families,

 

The summer is marching on and we are quickly approaching the first day of the 2017/2018 school year!  The teachers and staff are busy preparing for our students return!  Listed below are some important pieces of information that we want to share with you.

 

Back to School Night

We invite you to attend Back to School Night on Monday, August 14.  Families new to the school are asked to meet in the Chapel area at 5:30pm.  Principal Stueve will introduce the staff and give you some need-to-know information!

 

Kindergarten families are asked to meet in the Chapel area, as well, at 5:30pm and then shortly after the Kindergarten teachers will ask you to move to the classroom as they have an orientation time for families.

 

Returning families can arrive at 6pm to have a chance to talk with the teachers, get some class-specific info, and sign up for a home visit.  

 

The Picnic will begin at 6:15pm.  Chicken and cold water will be provided.  We ask that each family bring a side dish or dessert (one per family).  Please label your dish so that those who have food allergies can make informed/safe choices.

 

Concrete Work Coming

Our severe winter weather caused some issues with the sidewalk that spans the front of our building.  Work will begin to correct these issues on Monday, August 21.  The estimated date of the work being completed is August 26.  During that time period, there will be no entry through any of the front doors of the school.  If you need to come to the school during that time, please call the office at 582-5624 ahead of time and we will let you in at the east end of the building. 

 

Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Families – please note:  Entry for your upcoming open houses (August 21 for AM and PM Pre-Kindergarten, August 23 for AM Preschool, and August 24 for PM Preschool) will be at the east end of the building.  The doors will be unlocked for those events.

 

BLS Pick-Up Procedure Map

We have made some slight revisions to the Pick-Up Procedure map that was sent with the summer letter in July.  We have attached the revised version for you to look at.

 

Soccer Coach Needed

Mr. Brad Vaudt, our Athletic Director, is seeking a soccer coach for the upcoming season.  If you are interested or would like more information, please contact him at bradv@blcbls.org .
